The SBAS Fund Drive for the Shreveport Observatory.
The Shreveport-Bossier Astronomical Society, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. Donations to the Society are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. Your donation helps to keep public observing nights free to the public, aids in the development of new programs, and provides equipment used during the public observing nights.
The Observatory has suffered damage in recent storms and contributions to help repair the buildings would be greatfully received.
The Society began it's 66th year in operation in 2025. The Society has an ongoing effort to raise funds for renovation and repair of the Shreveport Observatory, provide new state-of-the-art equipment to enhance the public observing night experience, develop new educational programs, and help to maintain the Society's liability insurance needed to provide free public observing programs (what we call star parties).
